About Rebirthing Breathwork

Rebirthing Breathwork is a profoundly effective tool for healing and spiritual development. It will enable you to resolve life issues in a way that is safe and enjoyable, simply by breathing in a specific way.  It promotes deep relaxation, physical health, emotional stability and spiritual growth. Rebirthing Breathwork will enable you to fundamentally change the way you experience life for the better and will lead you towards self mastery within your own life.

Experiencing breathwork is normally done initially with a trained facilitator, to guide you through the process until you have sufficient experience to self-facilitate. Following an initial exploratory dialogue to uncover your focus for the session, you would then start the breathing process which normally involves lying down and breathing in a specific way for around one hour. The breath is relaxed with no pause between the inhale and the exhale. This way of breathing is known as "Conscious Connected Breathing" and induces a state of deep relaxation where one then “journeys” with the breath.

During a breathing journey one may experience a range of thoughts, feelings and sensations that lead to some aspect of your experience having “shifted”. The positive change that is experienced in a breath session is then reflected in your life. As one proceeds with the practice, spiritual awareness is gained through repeated experience with the process and the impact it has on your way of understanding and embodying the spiritual life.

How Does it Work?

Our breath is the bridge between the conscious and the unconscious.

The breath is the only function we have which is both conscious and unconscious. When we breathe using conscious connected breathing we move increased amounts of energy through our system and unconscious feelings, beliefs and physical sensations are brought into conscious awareness. This enables us to feel what may have been suppressed for many years, to reframe our beliefs about our experience and to integrate the associated discomfort. The result is greater presence and a fuller expression of who we want to be.

The process is deeply relaxing, enlivening and life affirming. Rebirthing Breathwork is particularly useful for helping go beyond the story of what we think has happened to us and operates at a level within us that often no words can describe. There is an intelligence to the process which is difficult to translate as experiences are often in the form of unique encounters with our own spiritual nature. There is part of us that knows just how far we want to travel in any given session and arranges our experience accordingly. As such, we are always in control of the process. The main requirement is simply to be able to sit or lie down and breathe.


Breathwork is a safe and highly effective way of moving beyond problems that may have been present for many years. It works at a level where no language is required and clients are often surprised at the results when all they do is “lie down and breathe”. A commonly reported phenomenon is that your experience of life starts to change for the better, often without any outward effort other than doing the sessions.
